“And so it’s come to this: The American public can no longer blindly trust that its vaunted medical journals and world-class medical experts put the interests of patients first. Naturally, this makes us want to take matters into our own hands. This is a healthy instinct. Becoming well informed and reclaiming personal responsibility are the best antidote to a fundamentally flawed system.” –
My original goal for this website was simply to help spread the word about heavy metals toxicity. However, as I got further into my research, I expanded the goal to include an educational component. Then, in March of 2017, I was introduced to ASEA, a cell signaling supplement based on the relatively new science of redox signaling molecules. Only time will tell if my goals for this website will expand further, but as of now, there are three main goals which are described as follows:
Spread the word regarding heavy metals toxicity
I plan on doing this by encouraging others who have experienced heavy metals toxicity to share their story. I have met several patients of Dr. Bernhoft who have been coping with this problem for much longer than I have. I find all of their stories both captivating and enlightening.
Educational
The educational journey I’ve been on since early 2014 has led me to understand how much variation there is with respect to the opinions of medical and health professionals. In my opinion, we all need to do our own research, if for no other reason than to be able to speak intelligently with our health professionals. Up to this point in my journey, I’ve been more or less on my own with respect to researching topics. It occurred to me that my progress would no doubt move along at a faster pace if I knew of others who shared my goal of learning about health and related matters. I have the following specific goals:
Get recommendations on good books on health and wellness
You can see from the recommended reading list on this website, I’ve read quite a number of good books in trying to self-diagnose my health problem. While I recommend all on this list, the following standout as exceptional:
Overdosed America by John Abramson, MD
Medicines that Kill by James L Marcum, MD
Biology of Belief by Bruce H. Lipton, PhD
Global Censorship of Health Information by Jonathan W. Emord
Detoxify or Die by Sherry A. Rogers, MD
I am in search of more books that others would classify as exceptional.
Help in obtaining answers to questions
On a wide range of issues, I have found it challenging to find professionals who are knowledgeable about such issue. This is a good indication as to how specialized we all are … but especially so in the field of health and wellness. The following is a sample of my current outstanding questions:
- Questions related to Bruce Lipton, author of Biology of Belief who makes the claim that the standard educational curriculum for medical students does not include quantum physics.
Is this a valid claim and if so, what is the explanation considering that so much of current medical science is conducted at the cellular level?
Why is Bruce Lipton more or less ignored by the mainstream science (his Wikipedia page page)? You might like to view my video that mentions these questions.
- Are the benefits of eating organic foods worth the extra cost? This question is prompted by this article that appeared in the Los Angeles Times
- Are genetically modified foods harmful to your health? You might want to view the following video on this subject:
Note that this is a long video (one hour and 25 minutes. Dr. Bernhoft is a contributing commentator at 0:3:10 and 0:9:58.) - Is yogurt good for you? Dr. Amy Lee does not think so and expresses her opinion here: 3harmfulfoods.com
- Do the advantages of vaccines outweigh the risks?
If anyone viewing this website has an opinion or knows someone who has an informed opinion on any of the above questions, please contact me.
Health supplements
Global Censorship of Health Information by Jonathan Emord does an excellent job of explaining how FDA policies imped the free flow of information regarding health and wellness products. The fos (short for “freedom of speech”) part of this website’s URL was inspired, in part, by my firm belief that those of us who share the goal to “do our own research” can benefit from sharing information. As such, the third goal is to encourage others to share their experiences (both positive and negative) related to health supplements.
